Free Community Cycling Programme
Welcome to Bike and Banter, a free community cycling programme designed to support adults who want to build confidence, improve their mental well-being, or simply connect with others through cycling. Led by a qualified cycle instructor and a mental health practitioner, these sessions offer a safe, relaxed environment where you can develop your cycling skills, meet new people, and enjoy the benefits of being active.
Our Mission: Confidence, Connection, and Well-being on Wheels
Join a small, supportive group where you can connect with others on a similar journey.
Our sessions are designed to help you feel comfortable and capable on a bike, no matter your experience level.
We’re here to support your mental well-being, offering a welcoming space to reduce isolation, build confidence, and enjoy the ride together.

How the programme works
- First Session as a Taster: The first session is a relaxed taster, giving you a chance to get comfortable, assess your cycling ability, learn more about the programme, and enjoy some time on the bike.
- 6-Week Blocks: Our sessions run in 6-week blocks, allowing you to build confidence gradually with each week.
- Explore Together: As you grow more confident, we’ll get out and about, exploring different routes and areas.
- Support throughout: You’ll receive guidance and support from our Cycle Leads. A qualified therapist accompanies rides when needed, offering a chance to talk in a natural, open setting.
These sessions are all about helping you feel safe, supported, and ready to enjoy cycling at your own pace.
