Who We Are
Mind Matters NE is an independent Community Interest Company (CIC).
We focus on helping people improve their mental well-being through practical support that is local, inclusive and non-clinical.
Our community programmes are delivered by trained facilitators and wellbeing professionals who bring both lived and professional experience.
When someone requires structured clinical therapy, we connect them with trusted independent practitioners who provide this service separately from our community work.
Our Approach
- Personalised support that starts with your needs
- Doing things with you, not to you
- Co-designed activities shaped by community voice
- Social prescribing and local connections to reduce isolation
- Simple steps that build confidence and routine over time
What We Offer
Community Well-being Programmes
Free or funded sessions and activities that help people connect, move and feel better in everyday life. These include Bike and Banter, Doorstep Connections and Connect and Thrive.
Private Therapy and Counselling (Separate Service)
Confidential, one-to-one support delivered by independent, qualified therapists who work alongside Mind Matters NE while retaining their own professional governance and practice responsibilities.
How We Operate
Mind Matters NE is governed as a social enterprise where income is reinvested to expand community support.
We maintain clear boundaries between community programmes and independent clinical services. Each operates under its own policies, insurance and professional standards.
Safeguarding and Quality
We follow robust policies covering:
-
Safeguarding and professional boundaries
-
Data protection and confidentiality
-
Supervision and quality assurance for all associates
This ensures safe, ethical practice and full transparency in how support is delivered.
Team and Governance
Our team brings together people with experience in community development, education and mental health support.
Roles within Mind Matters NE are non-clinical.
Therapy and counselling services are delivered only by independent associates with their own professional registrations and liability cover.
Partners and Referrals
We work with community groups, social prescribers and local organisations to reach people who would benefit from our programmes.
Referrals can be made through our online forms for professionals or individuals.
Ready to Connect
If you would like to join a community programme or speak about independent therapy options, we are here to help you choose the right path for support.
